La Bahn Ranch raises laying flocks at Warner Springs and Ramona in the San Diego County backcountry and sells eggs across Southern California. It has been a vendor at the Costa Mesa certified farmers market since close to that market’s founding, about forty years, and also sells at Laguna Hills on Fridays and Irvine on Saturdays. Eggs, whole chickens and chicken parts are also sold from a warehouse outlet in Santa Ana.
What we confirmed: The ranch holds a current California Certified Producer Certificate issued by San Diego County, valid to April 2027, and three active CDFA egg-handler registrations — Warner Springs, Ramona, and the Santa Ana outlet. A Certified Producer Certificate is issued only for what the holder raises, so this is a producer, not a reseller. There is no website. The Santa Ana street address and its opening hours circulate on business-listing sites but are confirmed by neither the ranch nor a state record, so they are left out here — call first. Older articles place the ranch in Temecula; current state records place production in San Diego County.
Wording: The ranch’s own description is free-range, naturally raised, corn- and soy-free, with no hormones or antibiotics. Third-party sellers describe the birds as pasture-raised; the ranch does not, so neither do we.
