FAT Chips is a small-batch chip maker in San Diego, run by co-founders Chris and Erik. Every bag is three ingredients: potatoes, 100% beef tallow and salt, with no seed oils, preservatives or artificial flavors. Frying in tallow is how chips were made before cheap vegetable oils took over, and it is the reason these are here.
You can buy them online, set up a recurring “Chipscription,” or pick them up at shops around the county, including Frazier Farms, Valley Farm Market, Seaside Market in Cardiff, Fox Point Farms in Encinitas and Ramona Family Naturals. You will also find them at three San Diego farmers markets: Little Italy Mercato on Saturdays, and Hillcrest and La Jolla on Sundays. Their site keeps the full store list.
Listed means this is a vetted local source we have not yet fully verified against our regenerative criteria. Inclusion is never paid and is not an endorsement.
